A special committee to promote online education and examination
On Saturday, Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' interacted with all the VCs of the central universities and formed a committee under the chairmanship of Prof. Nageshwar Rao, VC, IGNOU to promote online education and online examination.The minister also formed a committee under the leadership of UGC chairman which will suggest measures to deal with the dealy in the academic session. The meeting also discussed the measures to be taken for safeguarding the students in hostels and academic and non-academic staff of the university.Issues such as adherence to social distancing and provision for testing of suspected cases of COVID-19 were also discussed in the meeting. During the meeting, universities assured that they are ready to meet the challenges. BHU and AMU informed that they already have created 40-bed isolation ward and most of the universities are running education courses digitally so that academic session is not delayed.VCs of the universities also told that salaries are being given on time to all the employees (permanent /temporary) and provision has been made to pay salaries even on their day of absence.
