National Digital Library to enter into collaboration with other libraries
The National Digital Library of India is all set to enter into collaboration with the several top digital libraries from across the world. The information was given by Minister of State (HRD), Dr. Satya Pal Singh, who said “NDLI has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with British Library for integrating contents of its "Two Centuries of Indian Print Project”. Apart from this NDLI has also entered into a collaboration with the European Foundation (Digital Library of EU) to create a platform where digital libraries of the world can connect and exchange their content. NDLI is also a member of RightsStatements.org and sits on the steering committee to promote dissemination of copyrighted and non-copyrighted digital heritage items. Apart from this, NDLI has also integrated the contents from several international sources such as OECD -Library, PubMed, WHO and a few leading global publishers. Last year in October, NDLI had also organized a workshop in Delhi along with UNESCO, Cluster Office, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
