Now a directive to regulate tuition fee in private universities

The UGC has prepared a directive under which the fee charged by the private universities will be regulated including the capitation fee. The directive is available on the official website of the UGC and is open to suggestions from all stakeholders. The information was shared by the Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank” on Monday.HRD Minister was replying to a question in Lok Sabha.He was asked whether UGC is contemplating to regulate the fee charged by the private universities. The Minister replied by saying that the commission has prepared the UGC (Fees in professional education imparted by private aided and unaided institutions deemed to be Universities) Regulations, 2019.The final decision on the draft will be taken after receiving all the comments from the public domain.
