Tripura schools to follow the NCERT curriculum
Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that the Tripura Government has decided to adopt the curriculum as prescribed by the NCERT over the curriculum prescribed by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). Education board of Tripura, Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), is currently following the SCERT prescribed curriculum but it has not yielded the desired results and therefore the government has decided to switch to the NCERT curriculum. This will give a boost to the state education system. "It is more likely that CBSE pattern syllabus and tabulation system will be followed at the school level for better outputs," he said. "A six-member expert committee headed by former Vice-Chancellor of Tripura Central University Prof Arunoday Saha has been constituted to prepare a roadmap for adopting NCERT curriculum. Once the committee submits its finding, the government will take an appropriate decision," Nath said. The education minister also told that two officials of SCERT had gone to the NCERT in Delhi to discuss the way to adopt the NCERT curriculum and soon will submit a report on the same. He further said that the government wants to adopt the curriculum at the earliest.
