CBSE warns its users regarding the fake and look-alike sites
Cyber crimes are on increase everywhere. In a recent survey, India was named as the third country from the top in the number of phishing attacks. People are even hacking the government website and using their content to misdirect the users. The recent victim of the attacks was the Central Board of Secondary education. But, the CBSE has issued an alert for the students, parents and stakeholders against the commercial website which are using the board’s logo to mislead the people. According to the circular, “various commercial websites have created look-alike pages with the logo of CBSE on social networking sites for registration of candidates.” In the circular, the board has mentioned that the only address to visit the official website of the CBSE is www.cbse.nic.in. For authentic and genuine information everyone should visit the above-mentioned URL only in order to prevent themselves from getting cheated. The circular also stated that the board never ask students to give their personal information such as e-mail, Facebook, Twitter handle, phone number or any other source of contact.
