Now, that NTA (National Testing Agency) has started operating officially, the most popular exams of the central government such as JEE and NEET will be held twice a year by the NTA. An official announcement regarding the same was made HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar, last week. Both the tests were organized by the CBSE earlier. The JEE exam for admissions to undergraduate courses in various engineering colleges will be conducted in the months of January and April. In another new change, these exams will span over multiple dates and students will have the full liberty to chose the date of their liking. If the students appear for the NEET and JEE twice, then the best of his/her score between the two exams will be considered for the counseling. “The main feature is that students will not lose one year because there will be two examinations before admission. He/ she can appear in either of the two, or both. The best score will be taken into account for the result,” Javadekar later tweeted. Eligibility criteria For a candidate to be eligible for JEE Mains and Advanced, it is required that she has at least 75 percent in the class 12 board exams or is among the top 20 percentile of the Boards. For the reserved category students, this limit has been lowered to 65 percent.
