IIT KGP found its place in the ‘Golden Age University’ Rankings
Times Higher Education Golden Age University Rankings have been released and IIT-KGP has been given 76th place in the list among the top 100 universities. The authority also released the list for the top 50 in the Emerging University Rankings. The ranking shed the light on the best universities which has been established for more than 50 years but less than 80 years. All the universities in the Times Education’s ‘Golden Age’ ranking list were established between 1945 to 1967. The universities were measured on the following parameters: TeachingResearchCitationsInternational outlookindustry income University of California, San Diego, tops the list. For this year’s rankings, institutions from 44 different countries were chosen for the consideration this year and raking derived its name from what is referred to as ‘golden age’ for the global higher education marked by rapid university expansion and increasing investment in research. In the list for the top 50 Emerging Universities, IIT-KGP was placed 45th on the list. This list includes more than 350 universities from 42 different countries. The list was topped by the Peking University from China. The ranking is in its fifth year and has parted with the BRICS acronym and now uses a wider scope to recognize the strength and potential of diverse economies.
