Learning outcome data of the Buniyaad scheme released by the Delhi Government
Delhi government has released the learning outcome data of the Buniyaad scheme and according to the data 63% of the students from Std III to IX are now able to read the grade-appropriate text and 71% are able to solve the division. Although the data is registering the increase in the learning outcomes, 70% of the students are able to do three-digit division, the outcomes are still not up to the mark. The report says that since more than 70% of the students are able to perform the three-digit division, they are ready to learn the higher concepts. Prior to the launching of the scheme, only 56.3 percent of the students in class VII were able to perform three-digit division, a number which now has risen to 72.4%. Among class VIII students, the number jumped from 62.7% to 77.4%; while in Class IX it jumped from 65.7% to 79%. In overall, there has been an increase of 48% in reading Hindi/Urdu text and for math, this jump is of 54%. According to the report -- a total of 1,18,687 learned to read grade appropriate text and 1,40,560 learned math. Mission Buniyaad is a part of the second phase of Chunati scheme under which Delhi government aims to improve the learning levels of the students in government schools from classes III to IX. In 2016, the scheme was launched by keeping the students of classes VI to IX in mind but the scope was extended to include children from primary sections as well.
