Check the exam pattern and marking scheme for the Class 10 English Communicative Exam
The CBSE board exams for the class 10 students will commence in February 2019 and with the exams approaching, the students are already preparing for the same. For scoring well in the exams, students not only need hard work but also, marking scheme of the exam. In this article we will discuss the exam pattern and marking scheme for the English Communicative paper for class 10 students. The English Communicative question is of total 80 marks and the entire paper is divided into three sections: Reading, Writing and Grammar, and Literature. Section A: Reading Section A will have the weight of 20 marks and will have two passages in it. One passage will be of 8 marks and other will be of 12 marks. The section test the students’ ability to read and comprehend the passage and to answer the questions based on the given passage. The important point is to understand the passage and its main theme. Section B: Writing and Grammar This section carries a total of 30 marks and has five questions in it. Of the 5 questions, two questions will cover the writing part and three questions will cover the grammar part. The weight of writing part is 18 marks and grammar part is 12 marks. The writing part will consist of essay/letter writing and story writing type questions and the grammar part will have the fill in the blanks, sentence re-arrangement and omission type questions. Section C: Literature This part will have the weight of 30 marks and students will have four questions and each question will have an option. Students are required to answer only one question to answer.
