ICAI to take final decision on CA exams
An official said that the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will take a final decision on conducting the CA exams. CA students have been asking to postpone the exams which are due in June- July. The official, Dhiraj Khandelwal, tweeted that the institute will take suitable steps and actions in the best interest of the students based on the ongoing situation in various states/cities. CA exams were initially scheduled in May but dur to lockdown, the exams were postponed to June-July. "...in view of the ongoing spurt of the COVID-19 pandemic and in the interest of the well-being of students, the Chartered Accountant examinations initially scheduled from May 2 to May 18 stand rescheduled and the said examinations shall now be held from June 19 to July 4," said the CA exam regulator had said in a notification released in March. Due to severity of the situation, students are demanding to postpone the exams further but ICAI has not given any response. The country will go into the third phase of the lockdown from May 4. The lockdown was extended by the government for two more weeks.
