Abdul Kalam University name associated with corruption and scams
Lucknow’s prestigious university, Abdul Kalam Technical University’s name is in news because of various corruption charges. The latest in the row is related to permissions given to open the pharmacy colleges even after the order issued by the Supreme Court. All the details are being discussed using the landline phones or on WhatsApp and it includes illegal transactions worth crores of the rupees. The Supreme Court in its order had said that all the formalities related to the pharmacy colleges must be done latest by 15 May. According to the reports, AKTU has given permissions only to 72 colleges and 120 colleges are still in the waiting list. When asked about the college in the waiting list, the University did not respond. However, the VC of the university said that all news and reports of corruption are mere gossip and have no substance in them. All the work is being done as per the guidelines of the UGC and is under the close scrutiny of the registrar and sub-registrar.
