Sushil Modi urged IIT students to focus on innovation



Sushil Kumar Modi, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister, appealed the students of IIT Patna to focus on innovations in the field of education, health and agriculture to enable solutions in these fields. “I appeal to students to come forward to carry out innovations in the fields of education, health and agriculture so that solutions can be found for the problems of these fields under Solve For Bihar and Solve For India program,” he said at a program organized at IIT, Patna. Modi further added that India is poised for the fourth industrial revolution and startups and IIT Patna must play a greater role in the revolution. To encourage the culture of the startup, he said “Bihar’s Startup Policy, 2016, which was started with a corpus fund of Rs 500 crore, every startup would get an interest free maximum loan of Rs 10 lakh for 10 years.” He further added that under the Startup policy the government has given INR 1.88 crore to the 57 certified startups as the seed capital. He further said that 30,000 sq-mt building is being constructed at IIT Patna with an estimated cost of INR 15 crore and space inside the building will be allocated to the 50 incubators for electronic system design and manufacturing and medical electronics.
