Delhi government soon to test the learning levels of the students

Next month the Government of Delhi will test the comprehension abilities of the students in Hindi, English and Mathematics. Their comprehension abilities will be tested by their respective class teachers and the findings will be collected by the Directorate of Education (DoE). The exercise will take place between December 10-20. “The aim of the exercise is to identify where we stand after two years of government intervention in these areas. On the basis of the findings and the magnitude of needs that we will identify through it, we will take a call about the scale at which the interventions will have to be carried forward next year,” said Director of Education Sanjay Goel. In July 2016, the Delhi government, in a similar comprehension exercise, found that only 44 percent of the students of classes VI-VIII could read the test of their level. As a result, to improve the learning levels among the students ‘Chunauti 2018ΚΌ was launched. Under the scheme, the students were divided into two groups of readers and non-readers. For non-readers, the government has arranged an extra hour of classes between September 5 and November 14, 2016.
