Delhi Nursery Admissions 2019 | Government released the admission criteria for open seats

The schedule for the Nursery admissions for 2019 has been released by the Directorate of Education (Private School Branch) of Government of New Delhi and the official race for the admissions in nursery class has begun for the parents. This year, the government has introduced the changes in guidelines for the admissions regarding the upper age limit. The government has fixed the upper age limit for the admissions in nursery classes and parents can visit the official website of the Directorate of Education to check the prescribed age. Taking a stricter stand against the monopoly of the private unaided schools, the Government has instructed all such schools to abide by the High Court orders regarding the admissions and ensure that the criterion is fair, reasonable, well-defined, equitable, non-discriminatory, unambiguous and transparent to and for all. According to the High Court orders dated January 6, 2016, schools cannot conduct an oral test or interview of the children looking for admissions in class nursery and all schools are bound to upload their respective admission criteria and corresponding points attached to the criteria on the Directorate of Education (DoE) website latest by December 14, 2018. The number of seats in the nursery is still the same as the number of seats during the last three years 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19. All schools are required to disclose the number of seats available on the DoE website.
