7th pay scale for teachers and academic staff soon
In the latest notification, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has said that revised allowances for teachers, equivalent academic staff, registrars, finance officers and controller of examinations in Central Universities and colleges will come into effect from July 1, 2017. The revised allowances are based on the recommendations from the 7th pay commission. On January 15, the Central government had approved the proposal to extend the 7th pay commission to the teachers along with the academic staff of the state government and government-aided degree level technical institution in the country. In a separate development, UGC has ordered to increase the Honorarium for Guest Faculty to INR 1,500 per lecture subject from INR 1000 subject to a maximum of 50,000 per month.
