Due to technical glitches and errors, CLAT aspirants want re-exam

Candidates of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2018 are demanding the re-exam as many students at the several exam centers witnessed technical glitches and disturbances in the online examination system. Discrepancies in the answer keys is another reason that students are demanding the re-exam. This year, CLAT 2018 exam was conducted by the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi. "It was terrible. The computer I was allowed to sit for the exam shut down several times during the exam. Besides, it got logged off repeatedly leading to a nervous breakdown. I worked really hard throughout the year for the entrance but due to technical glitches our career will be ruined," said Sikha Suman, a candidate, who appeared the exam in Indus Engineering College. Students are also frustrated as several questions did not appear on the screen and other have errors in them. "CLAT- 2018 was an extremely bad experience for me, from technical glitches to rude and inexperienced invigilators, to faulty answer key provisional result. I was allotted a computer which first had the wrong administration login initials to begin with. It took me 15 minutes to gain the attention of one of the seven invigilators present there. Then when the paper started, the screen was blank and the questions and options either didn't appear, or they came in an encrypted form," said Shreyashree Nayak, a candidate. Students said that technical glitches in the exam may lead to a poor score and can hamper their chances of getting selected in a good institution. "There is no match between the answer keys released and what we have calculated. This will lead to lots of tension and also mistake in the result. They must be careful about the answer keys," said Anuj Mishra another student. Another student said, "It seems our answer keys have tampered and we doubt about the fairness in conducting the exam. It is high time that the authorities start taking responsibility for their actions and solve these problems instead of blaming the students for reacting. We have all the right to react, as it is our future which is at risk," rued Nayak. According to the officials, students can raise the objection for CLAT 2018 exam until May 18, 2018.
