Education and teaching should go beyond getting a job

On Monday, President Ram Nath Kovind says that students must focus on using their skills to run their own businesses and education should not be limited only to a job. President Kovind was present at the Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry in Nauni on the occasion of the ninth convocation of the university. He said that there are unexplored horizons and potential in the field of fruit and vegetable processing and students by exploring them could help the consumers in getting better food products in India and abroad. He also told the students that they can take the help of the various initiatives by the government and can set up businesses in the agricultural sector. The President congratulated the students for choosing agricultural sector as their higher education stream and said that the forestry and agriculture have special significance to farmers of the Himachal Pradesh. The university is located in the Himachal Pradesh and has played a major role in the advancement of the horticulture in the state. To boost the confidence of the students further he added that he considered each student of the university a friend and partner of the farmers of HP and other parts of the country.
