To promote research, IIT-Delhi joined hands with the CSIR laboratories



In an attempt to promote cooperative research, IIT Delhi has entered into an agreement with the five national laboratories. The five national laboratories are: CSIR-Advanced Materials and Processes Research InstituteCSIR-Central Scientific Instruments OrganisationCSIR-Central Electronics Engineering Research InstituteCSIR-Institute of Minerals & Materials Technology CSIR-National Physical Laboratory of India CSIR or Council of Scientific and Industrial Research is the largest research and development organization of the nation and works under the Government of India. The MoU was signed by the directors of the respective laboratories and Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi. In his opening remarks, Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao said that IIT-Delhi has been providing its students and faculty with the world-class infrastructure and conducive environment for the research. He also talked about the plans to initiate the 60 Interdisciplinary Research projects with the five CSIR laboratories this year. Welcoming the partnership, Dr Mande said “CSIR laboratories can benefit immensely with such collaborations that are in the mutual interest areas of research and together it can participate more proactively in solving nation's persisting problem in the areas of science and technology, healthcare.” The MoU will also serve as a platform for the students, faculty and research scholars to contribute towards research, development and growth of the nation.
