Microsoft Garage India has entered into a partnership with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee to deliver lectures on quantum computing. Students of B.Tech and M.Tech from the institute can choose this subject as a quantum elective. The course has been developed by both IIT Roorkee and Microsoft and will provide access to Q# Programming Language practical examples, Microsoft Quantum Development Kit and Microsoft Quantum Faculty. Experts from the tech giant will teach the students about real-world experiments in quantum computing and will provide access to the tools of the emerging technology. The course will run for a full semester. Reena Dayal, Director, Microsoft Garage India said, “This collaboration between Microsoft Garage and IIT Roorkee represents another step towards empowering students to create futuristic innovations. With Microsoft’s experience in the field of quantum computing, we aim to make the technology more accessible and enhance the learning journey of engineering students. The partnership will create a new learning experience for students and help them build impacting solutions.” The main aim of Microsoft is to teach students so that they can create solutions for real-time challenges. Our initiative will give students practical experience, expert guidance and mentorship which will help them achieve more.
