Education required improvement in services and infrastructure: Rajasthan Minister

Quality education is the need of the hour and is essential for the development of the country, said Rajasthan Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara. "It is a challenge for the government to provide quality education given the limited resources. All stakeholders of the society should come together and pool in their resources to improve the services and infrastructure required for quality education in the state," Mr Dotasara said, while addressing the ''CSR Conclave on Education'' here. He said that there are 86 lakh students which are studying in the 63,000 schools of the state and hence the need for developing centers for excellence and schools in the rural areas. He also insisted on the need for promoting sports in schools along with rewarding the children and the need to bring the specially-abled and marginalized section of the society in the mainstream. Apart from building the infrastructure it is equally important to lay emphasis on developing teacher-student relation along with building soft-skills among the students, said The principal secretary, of school education, R Venkateswaran. Mr Venkateswaran also talked about the ''Gyan Sankalp Portal'', which is specially developed to raise capital for building better infrastructure in the government schools.
