Odisha Matric exams: Answer sheets of 108 students went missing



On Sunday, a government-run high school in Malkangiri district lost the OMR sheets of the Mathematics papers of 108 students who had appeared for the matriculation examination. The matter came to light when authorities of the SSD high school reported the incident to the police, a police official said. According to the report, OMR sheets of about 108 students are missing from the school who had appeared for the Mathematics exam on Saturday. Jagmohan Meena, Malkangiri Superintendent of Police said that a team led by ASP U C Nayak is investigating the matter."The investigation is in progress to ascertain the circumstances in which the OMR sheets went missing," he said. An official who was known to the matter said “the school authorities have also informed the district administration and the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), which conducts the annual matriculation examination in the state”. The issue of the missing OMR sheets came to light when images of Mathematics question paper surfaced on social media. BSE, Odisha, was already in a tight spot because of question papers leak of Odia, Hindi and English subjects and the recent case of missing OMR sheets has made the situation worse for the board. The matriculation examinations began on February 22 and would conclude on March 8.
