List of unauthorized schools released by Mumbai Municipal Corporation

A list of 211 unauthorized schools has been released by the education department of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. Since these schools are running without permission they have been asked to close down all the operations and register as recognized schools before commencing their operations. The education officer has also appealed to the parents to not fall for such fake schools. As per the provisions under the Right to Education Act, no new school can run without getting permissions/approval from the state government and municipal commission. If schools ignore the formal process, then they are liable for the penalty. Municipal corporation annually released a list of unauthorized schools running in the state. Last year, it had released a list containing names of 231 unauthorized schools. This year’s list contains names of 211 such schools. Among the unauthorised schools, nine schools are in the F South Zone, 13 schools in F North Zone, 3 in east part, 4 in east, 4 in west, 4 in P west, 2 in P north, 2 in R North, 4 in R Middle, 1 in West, 2 in R South, 56 unauthorized schools in M East area, 4 in M West, 1 in F South, 1 in R South, 3 in M East, and 3 in R North.
