The notification also said the regulation "shall come into force from the date of publication in the official Gazette." Formerly, NEET was know as All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT). It is an entry level test for the medical students who wish to pursue medical studies at the graduate level from the private and government colleges and universities of the nation. At present, NEET is organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Before this, CBSE was in the supervising authority of the national-level entrance exam.
